- Interesting/cutting edge experimental/improvised live performances at one of LA’s most beloved DIY spaces @coaxialarts; feat @david_r_molina’s Transient Orchestra (this quintet will be mind blowing) + a duo of @thezerocollective on electronics w/ @viola.wav on viola + legendary tape and modular synth artist @dynastysuites 8pm $10
- @kxlu dance party/live broadcast at @rockwelllosangeles / @delciouspizzahq feat two beloved KXLU shows; The Bomb Shelter & Ned’s Mystery Machine! Expect 60’s grooves, funk, soul, psych & jazz 8pm - Midnight FREE
- LA DJ legend @theemikebdj’s monthly disco party @ifeellovedisco at @clubteegee in Atwater Village. Mike really is in the top 3 DJ’s in LA; easy! Guarantee will be a good time 9pm - 2am FREE

- @grainofsalt.la are doing really cool literary events! This Saturday they are doing a pop-up tea house at @gatheringsatdupe (check them out too; lotta cool community events). This is sold out, but their is a stand by list 2pm - 6pm DTLA
- @lastword.dj & @delaplayamusic present Dilla’s Dungeon in celebration of the late great J Dilla’s bday. Feat Dilla inspired DJ sets + two live performances in tribute to DIlla. They’ll be donuts + as well as a hot food pop up. Block party vibes at the De La Playa record store in Highland Park 1pm - 6pm FREE
-@Listenfur (Figueroa Unanimous Radio) with some cutting edge/exciting live performances on a Saturday afternoon. - @wildup constantly makes my weekend picks because everything they do is amazing. Part chamber orchestra/part avant-garde ensemble. I never not leave one of their performances without my mind being blown. They have two performances at @thebroadmuseum 8pm & 10pm. Tix still avail for 10pm $25
- @boomboxla is back with their 19th Annual #DoinIt4Dilla. Playing Dilla all night long; with some ICONIC DJ LEGENDS @nottzdaruler, @THEREALMRCHOC, & @CMINUSFAN4 at @thegrandstarjazzclub 930pm $9
Sunday Feb 8th
- My Super Bowl is a spiritual jazz show in a garden! @livingearth.la presents the LA spiritual jazz torchbearer Carlos Nino (& Friends) w/ the legend @saulwilliams in a beautiful garden in Pasadena.
