- @mmmmjjjjjjjj has been curating jazz lineups every Monday in Feburary at Chinatown’s @cafetristela; for this last one the lineup is INSANE! Max will be joined by@nicolemccabe_, @jeffparkersounds, @lo.kane.kittens 8pm 2 sets FREE (can’t stress enough how stellar this lineup is)
- An @upend.la show is ALWAYS guaranteed to be an experience. The most interesting and cutting edge experimental shows in the city are due to Upend’s fantastic curation. They have one tonight at @humanresourcesla (also in Chinatown) featuring Houston-based improviser David Dove w/ a performance of “subwoofer trombone”, and L.A.–based low-brass explorer Mattie Barbier; Plus, a newly minted trio — double bassists Sam Rowell and Georgia E. Bell with saxophonist Wilson Shook 7pm $15
Tuesday Feb 24th:
- @insheepsclothinghifi is hosting a listening event that’ll focus on 8 albums played in full at @zizou_losangeles. These are always so cool!! Serious music lover shit! Plus Gra Pizza will be there 🤌
Wednesday Feb 25th:
- Loving the abundance of literary events happening in LA right now! @casualencountersz & @social_club_la at Taix in Echo Park. Doors 6pm, readings at 730pm
- AfrofutureNOW music showcase (experimental jazz and more) with @thegrowtheternal, @sheets0fsound & more at @psstudio_dtla 7pm $12
Thursday Feb 26th:
- Unknown Movie Night is back at @2220arts. An ensemble of fantastic improvisational/experimental musicians do a live score to a film that is unknown to both audience and band until it begins; truly an experiment in improvisation. These are always really cool! Presented by @akprecordings & @dublab 8pm FREE
- @jijisjazzclub at @psstudio_dtla; a night of intimate jazz & tea! Great lineup too! @_blacknile, @tidathaitea, and @bryanbbaker; + @letroisapothecary serving up tea. 7pm - 1030pm. Sold out, but DM @jijisjazzclub, maybe there’s a standby list?
- @starpartysilverlake is back at the sunset triangle in Silverlake. Telescopes & community; plus 🎶🎶 vibes by @nathanalpov 8pm free

Posting this one before my usual weekend picks post on Friday, cause more than likely this will be sold out by then! @liveatglasshill. Gorgeous outside show at a private venue residence in Glassell Park; and a GREAT lineup! Trust me, you WANT to go to this! 2pm
